The next Call of Duty game is Black Ops 4, at least according to the new rumors about Activision's work in 2018. Activision has three different studios working at Call of Duty, allowing the company to keep pace with the release of a new Call of Duty game a year. As we know Treyarch has been responsible for all Black Ops games so far. The first one came out in 2010, followed by a follow-up in 2012 and then in 2015. Treyarch's first game took place during the Cold War of the 1960s. Last year, Call of Duty WW2 was well received due to the departure from the future war, and Call of Duty 2018 will probably follow the example. This could signal Treyarch's intention to return to the current era and try to replicate the success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2007. The most solid information we have on the game so far comes from a Eurogamer report that quotes "multiple sources" saying the Call of Duty game of 2018 will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
